eSIM not working? Check signal, data and QR errors

Choose what you see and work through safe checks. Keep your installed profile and contact the provider when activation or replacement is needed.

What is going wrong?

Start with one symptom. These checks do not change your phone settings automatically.

Your choice stays on this page. No QR code, account details or screenshot is requested. Without JavaScript, open a symptom below.

Keep the installed eSIM

Do not delete it or reset all network settings as a first step. Only reinstall or transfer after the provider confirms that your plan and code support it.

No signal / no service
  1. Check that you have arrived in a country included in this exact plan and that the plan is active and within its validity. Installing the profile alone does not prove that coverage or activation is available.
  2. In your SIM settings, make sure the travel line is enabled. Briefly turn airplane mode on and off, then allow time to reconnect. A restart is another reversible check.
  3. Use automatic network selection first. If the provider names supported partner networks and asks you to select one manually, follow that list. Do not assume every visible network is included. If none registers, contact the provider.

Signal, but no internet
  1. Select the travel eSIM as the mobile-data line. Turn Wi-Fi off briefly to test mobile data, then reconnect to trusted Wi-Fi if you need support. Signal bars alone do not confirm an internet connection.
  2. Check remaining data, expiry and whether roaming must be enabled on the travel line. Keep home-line data roaming and automatic mobile-data switching off if you want to prevent fallback to home data. Calls and SMS have separate tariffs.
  3. Compare the APN with the instructions for this exact plan. Change it only if the provider instructs you; there is no universal eSIM APN. Try another ordinary website. If all mobile internet fails, ask support to check provisioning and network registration.

QR code used, expired or profile missing
  1. Open your phone’s SIM list first. The profile may already be installed under a default or unfamiliar name. Match it privately against the provider’s instructions before scanning again.
  2. Do not delete an installed profile to try the same QR code again. A code can be single-use, and reinstalling or transferring can require a replacement from the provider.
  3. If the profile is absent, check stable internet and the device/lock requirements. On the same phone, use a provider-supported app, direct installation or manual method if offered. Record the exact error and ask the provider whether the code is still valid or needs replacement.

Only the provider app or website fails
  1. Test an unrelated website over mobile data with Wi-Fi temporarily off. If it loads, mobile data is working even if the provider’s app is inaccessible. Do not remove the eSIM because one app fails.
  2. Try the provider’s official website on trusted Wi-Fi and check its published status or support notice. App access, payment access and the mobile network can fail independently. We cannot diagnose a countrywide block from one failed login.
  3. Use support details saved before departure. For Turkey, prepare any required app and installation before arrival, but check the plan’s validity trigger first. A VPN is not a universal solution; follow local rules and the provider’s current instructions.

It worked, then stopped
  1. Check remaining data and the exact expiry time in the provider account. A daily high-speed allowance can reset at a provider-defined time rather than midnight where you are. Record the stated time zone.
  2. Check whether you crossed into another country or boarded a ship. A regional label does not establish every country or maritime coverage. Recheck the included-country list and enabled data line.
  3. If data or validity is exhausted, check whether this exact profile supports a top-up and when that purchase starts. Do not buy a second plan until you understand whether it renews the current profile or provides a new eSIM.

Slow data or hotspot problems
  1. First separate phone data from tethering: does an ordinary website load on the phone itself? If it does, check whether hotspot is allowed and whether it has a separate daily or total allowance.
  2. For an unlimited plan, check the high-speed allowance, speed after fair use, reset time and hotspot cap. Unknown limits stay unconfirmed. A 4G/5G icon does not measure real speed or latency.
  3. Pause backups and video downloads and try another location. A speed test itself uses data. For work calls, test your actual call app and keep a separate connection option. If ordinary data remains unusable, send support the symptoms and timing.

Still stuck? Send the provider useful details

Esimufo compares plans; the provider you bought from controls delivery, activation, replacement and refund decisions. Open its official account or your order confirmation to find support. A refund depends on that provider’s terms and review; this checklist promises no outcome.

  • Exact phone model and regional version; operating-system version.
  • Destination, approximate location, local time and time zone when the problem began.
  • Plan name, purchase/installation/first-connection times and remaining data or expiry shown.
  • Exact error text, whether a profile is installed, whether there is signal and which reversible checks you tried.

Share an order reference only inside the provider’s authenticated support channel. Never publish your QR code, activation code, password, full SIM identifiers, IMEI or SMS verification codes. Redact screenshots. This page collects none of these.
