Tablets, laptops and connected cars

A cellular tablet differs from a Wi-Fi-only model. In a car, the manufacturer often controls which connections you can use.

Use cases in this guide

  • iPad or Android tablet with its own data
  • Windows laptop with mobile data
  • BMW Personal eSIM and car hotspot
  • Connected-car plan through the manufacturer

We do not yet show confirmed, comparable offers for this use case. Use the checks below when speaking with your manufacturer, installer or provider.

Check before choosing

  1. Check the exact model, modem and eSIM support. In Windows, check both cellular connectivity and the availability of an eSIM profile.

  2. For tablets or laptops, ask the selected provider whether it supports the device. Check tethering when sharing from a phone instead.

  3. For a car, ask which manufacturer services, built-in SIM and contracts are permitted. A travel data plan does not automatically work in its modem.

Compare the complete cost

Compare mobile data for a supported tablet or laptop separately from connected-car services.

Include activation, data, top-ups, manufacturer subscriptions and term. Check whether balances remain tied to a device or account.

Ask the provider

Do my exact device and manufacturer support this provider, and which data and service charges apply to my use?

Take this question, your device model, countries and usage to the provider.
