Motorhome and mobile router

First choose how to share internet: from a phone or a separate router. Not every travel eSIM works in a router.

Use cases in this guide

  • European motorhome trip
  • Long stay in a caravan or chalet
  • Portable MiFi or hotspot
  • International mobile workplace
  • Seasonal mobile connection

We do not yet show confirmed, comparable offers for this use case. Use the checks below when speaking with your manufacturer, installer or provider.

Check before choosing

  1. Check the exact router variant: physical SIM, built-in eSIM or an external solution. Ask which profiles and networks it supports.

  2. Confirm router use, hotspot and the intended roaming duration in writing. Phone compatibility does not prove router suitability.

  3. Record every country, user count, simultaneous traffic and length of stay. Test reception at the stopping place and router power.

Compare the complete cost

Compare hardware separately from the data service. Include antenna, installation, activation, validity, top-ups and throttling.

Use the travel comparison for phone data, or for a plan whose compatibility with your router has been confirmed separately.

Ask the provider

Does this exact plan work in my router, and are tethering, all my countries and my length of stay allowed?

Take this question, your device model, countries and usage to the provider.

Backup internet

A backup connection must work when your main connection fails. Buying a SIM alone does not create a working failover solution.
