A Swiss ski week without a roaming surprise 2027
Lift tickets, a meeting point and the route back to your chalet: sort the small phone details before the first ski day. Start with your French contract, not an automatic extra purchase.

Check your own school calendar before booking.
School holidays begin after the last classes; the dates above end on Sunday before Monday’s return. Check your own establishment, especially if travelling on the first Saturday. This example does not predict snow or lift openings.
Is Switzerland already included?
Open the country list for your exact French tariff. Some operators include Switzerland voluntarily; others sell a separate option. Check the data allowance, calls and any daily pass trigger. If your existing allowance fits the week, an additional eSIM may offer no benefit. Keep the confirmation available offline rather than relying on a broad “Europe” label.
Prepare a small offline mountain kit
Save the chalet address, booking references, the resort map and your group’s meeting point before departure. Check live resort information through its official channels. A data bundle cannot guarantee reception in a valley, gondola or mountain building, and a downloaded map does not establish that a route is open. Agree on a meeting place that does not depend on a working phone.
Count arrival and the last journey home
The seven-day example is a starting point. Include the arrival evening and departure day, then confirm when validity starts: installation, first connection or another provider rule. Compare the actual network and hotspot conditions before sharing data with a second phone. The calculator estimates one phone; the family does not receive that amount separately for every person.

Planning estimate for one phone: 0.15, 0.5 or 1.5 GB/day, plus 20%, rounded up per stop. Hotspot use belongs in the same budget.

Sources & selection
The official French winter calendar provides three different school windows. Switzerland is not in the EU roaming country list. Those two facts make this a practical contract-and-duration question, not proof that a particular eSIM is cheapest.
