Device and purchase checks
Open buying guideStart with the device and its communication pattern. Small sensor readings can still generate traffic from registration and reconnections.
We do not yet show confirmed, comparable offers for this use case. Use the checks below when speaking with your manufacturer, installer or provider.
Record the modem, SIM format or eUICC profile and required radio technology. Request coverage by country and network for that technology.
Measure real traffic, including connections, firmware updates and restarts. Record device counts and active months.
Ask how APNs, secure access, SIM management and data limits work. Test a small set of devices before deployment.
Include SIMs, activation, monthly charges, minimum usage, data, SMS and top-ups in the same calculation.
For pooled data, check both fleet totals and per-SIM limits. Ask what happens at overage or during inactivity.
What is the total cost for our measured traffic and device count, and which features and countries are included in writing?
Take this question, your device model, countries and usage to the provider.
