Cameras and video

Separate short event clips, occasional live viewing and continuous uploading. They need very different amounts of data.

Use cases in this guide

  • 4G camera for a home or site
  • Business CCTV with event clips
  • Continuous video streaming
  • Wildlife and observation camera
  • Dashcam with occasional uploads

We do not yet show confirmed, comparable offers for this use case. Use the checks below when speaking with your manufacturer, installer or provider.

Check before choosing

  1. Measure or estimate bitrate and active upload time using your actual settings. Include multiple cameras, audio and repeat viewing.

  2. Ask whether continuous video is permitted. Check upload speed, reception at the installation point, caps and throttling.

  3. Check access through a cloud service or private connection. A public IP address is not automatically needed or included; follow the camera documentation.

Compare the complete cost

Example: 1 Mbit/s for 1 hour is about 0.45 GB of video data, before overhead. This is an assumption, not a measurement of your camera.

Compare monthly totals, pooling, per-SIM charges and overage. Add power, router and storage separately.

Ask the provider

Which plan fits our measured upload volume, and is this camera usage allowed without unexpected limits?

Take this question, your device model, countries and usage to the provider.
